A Worden native turned entrepreneur is showing her heart for building community and growing tourism in and around her hometown. Beth Behme Adkison opened The Wild Turkey on February 12, 2017. She is working closely with Village of Worden and other businesses to help bring people and businesses to her small hometown. The Wild Turkey got its name from a childhood experience. When she was young her and her cousins were attacked by wild turkeys. She holds this memory near and dear to her heart, although it was a frightening experience, and felt the name fit the area well. The menu consists of family recipes and foods she enjoyed during her travels around the country. The majority of the menu items are home-made from the gravy on the poutine fries to the taco shells for the taco salad to the lasagna. The restaurant also has a lounge with many daily specials and happy hour specials. This is a family friendly atmosphere that has delicious food, excellent customer service, friendly faces and quite simply it is a place where great times and great food come together.
